St Augustine, Christmas Crib

Some late Christmas Decoration pictures, St Augustine, Minster. Nice Crib, fitting for so large a church, they still have their rail only because the marble floor would cost a fortune to patch or replace

nice use of poinsettias, since Christ has been shunted off to a side altar the flowers highlight the "presiders chair" funny how the Presider is now elevated higher that Jesus, and front and center too boot

A seldom seen view from the rear of St Augustine, from the parking lot, just left a funeral, which is when I got the pictures

The Twin Spires are a landmark, they look impressive as they are lit at night. Local pilots look for them as a landmark as they approach either Lake field, Mercer county airport, Celina or Neil Armstrong , Auglaize county airport, New Knoxville. St Augustine is the "mother church" that most of the churches in southern Auglaize and Mercer C0unty's can trace their heritage from

Christmas at Egypt

some late Christmas pictures, St Joesph, Egypt, rhe original set from my youth covered the entire St Joesph altar, went nearly to the ceiling with mountains and trees, dozens of animals and Shepherds. our new priest in the 1970's announced that the display was a distraction from the altar (and Him) so in the spirit of V II he burned the display except for the wood manger and some of the figures, and set it in front of the altar, Egypt also has a beautiful window portraying the annunciation, fitting for the Christmas season, The windows at St Joesph, seem so rich in color and shading, so many church windows seem so washed out, I don't know why maybe I'm just biased

Christmas Pictures,

Here are some pictures from my parish, St John the Baptist in Maria Stein, Ohio.

The kid sitting in front of the nativity set is my son, Bobby the wonder kid, the future farmer,

Some day I hope to see a TLM at that majestic high altar, the nativity set covers the dull brass Tabernacle that was hacked into the St Joesph altar when Christ was shunted to the side years ago, at least at Christmas He is back front and center where he belongs
