unusual two story sacristy

thought I would go back to some pictures for a change, this is the inside of St John the Baptist, in Maria Stein, Ohio, my current parish. It is Romanesque in style with an imposing main altar

these next two are of the sanctuary windows, crucifixion on the right and resurrection on the left of the altar

this final one is of the two story doorway and it's unusual second story. there are two rooms one on top of each sacristy, if you click on the picture you will see that each one has open able sashes, one wide one in the middle and two narrow on the sides, there is a kneeler in front of them so they were intended for use as a worship space, but why how or for whom, any ideas out there?

I tried to lighten this picture, best I could get with the light on hand

Sometimes you just have to live with the light you have and do the best you can. I took some pictures of the two stained glass windows beside the alter on one my visits. I planed on using them for a post on the Stations of the Resurrection. As you found out when you took yours they are at an angle and very hard to capture. I think I am going to go back and try again. I did not have my Canon 430EX flash on my last visit so maybe I will get some nice alter shots. Oh and thanks for adding the word sacristy to my vocabulary.
